Case Study
Listed Building Bathroom Refurbishment – Perth
We were approached by a lovely couple from Perth, who recently had some plumbing work carried out by our Sister company, LW Haddow. During that time, the LW Haddow team identified that an upgrade to their current bathroom was no longer the most efficient or feasible option, but a full refurbishment could instead be a better solution.
Our client’s property is within a listed building, and the bathroom was over 40 years old, needing some TLC.
Having taken the advice of the LW Haddow team, our client came straight to Haddow Bathrooms and Kitchens for an initial consultation to discuss their bathroom and their vision for the new design.
Our client previously had a bad experience with a supply only company, that ended up costing our client more than a full service, supply and installation. Haddow Bathrooms and Kitchens’ complete design and installation service, with our experienced in-house designers and tradesmen, was one of the deciding factors for our clients choosing Haddow Bathrooms and Kitchens.
After a site visit and further consultations, our talented designers presented a design that our clients loved, and work began. Our client said they found our design process straightforward, with strong attention to detail.
Design Brief
At Haddow Bathrooms adn Kitchens, all of our bathroom installations are completed using our in-house project management and trades team, including plumbers, tilers, electricians, decorators and joiners. They work efficiently to deliver high quality bathrooms, on schedule, whilst treating your property with the highest degree of respect throughout. Our client found our installation team wonderful and great to have in their home.
Our client’s previous bathroom was split over two rooms, so the first requirement of our design was to combine both rooms into one. To do this we completely changed the layout of the room to maximise space. The bath and sink were re-positioned, and this created enough space to install a WC – previously the WC was in the other room. Our client said it was “good, and far more practical to have as one bathroom now”.
As mentioned, our client’s property is a listed building, which means the windows and doors had to remain as they were. Our designers used this factor to create a charming contrast between the old, classic design of the pain-glass windows and modern bathroom appliances, including LED de-mister mirror, chrome plating, a concealed WC cistern and a vertical wall mounted radiator.
Our client’s favourite features of their new room are the depth of their new bath, fancy mirror and in general the good lighting. They said that they would recommend Haddow Bathrooms and Kitchens “without hesitation”.
